Do watch the video on using the Veckta. Although it is inituitive there are differences between using a Veckta and using a sidearm.

Also note that the Veckta is designed and tested for use on Astro.

Throwing with the Veckta is more like throwing a dart. You can throw from a standing postion, although we recomend taking a couple of steps. Throw with your elbow under your hand and focus on letting the ball come out of the launcher with an upright ridge.

You don't need a big wind up and a big throw. If you use a normal throwing action, as if you were throwing a ball, it can be difficult to get the ridge upright and pointing down the wicket.

If your natural throw has the ridge is pointing more towards the slips than the stumps rotate the Veckta clockwise in your hand slightly. Use the ridges at the top of the grip as a guide. If the ridge is pointing at fine leg then rotate the launcher anticlockwise in your hand.

If you want to get some drift on the ball slightly rotate the launcher in your hand so the ridge points at either first slip or fine leg.

If the ball wobbles in the air you might find changing grip in the Veckta helps. Some people need to turn the grip as much as forty-five degrees just to get the ball to come out straight. Some experimentation might be needed. Watch the ridge as you launch the ball and practice getting it upright and pointing straight. Then practice hitting a length.

Don't throw the Veckta around as that might damage the C-cup. If the C-cup does get bent then gently bend it back into a position that will lightly grip the ball.

Don't use the C-cup of the veckta as a hook to hang the Veckta; you'll stretch the plastic. If you want to hang the Veckta put a loop of string through the hole in the handle and hang using that.
